3D2N Kinabatangan Birding Tour
Introduction of the Place
The Kinabatangan River with its tributaries, its oxbow lakes and a few trails leading into the forest, is an excellent birdwatching area. Travel by open boat permits a clear view of the species perching on the trees along the river or flying across.
Target Places & Target Birds
Along the Menanggol river, near Sukau is one of the reliable sites to see Bornean Ground Cuckoos, and the endemic Bornean Bristlehead has been sighted here. Tenegang River is the right place to look for all the 8 species of Hornbills that feeds on the nearby oil palm fruits. Oxbow Lake is known for its Pittas (Blue-headed, Banded, Giant Pitta) and also Helmeted and White-crowned Hornbills.

- Drive to Sukau Kinabatangan River and check in at Sukau Greenview B&B
- Lunch
- Afternoon birding at Tenegang Besar River or any preferred tributary (3 hours)

- Night birding at main river or nearest tributary (2 hours)
- Overnight at Sukau Greenview B&B
Day 2
- Morning birding at Menanggol River or any preferred tributary (3 hours)
